Review:
Thẩm Uyển Chi is not content with following the original plot, in which she is exploited and mistreated by her in-laws until she dies. Instead, she chooses to defy the plot and marries a military officer stationed at the border, making use of her knowledge to develop the territory and achieving her own happiness without sacrificing herself for others. The writing style is gentle, warm, and elegant. Through the protagonist's perspective, the novel provides a glimpse into rural life during the 1970s.
